Gender and Paid Work
In Summer 2002, the institute organized an online class that was also designed to test advantages and disadvantages of eLearning. Three sessions took place in the form of physical meetings but for the most part, the seminar consisted of weeky online sessions. The class was hosted on GLOW Campus, an eLearning platform provided by the Gunda Werner Institute for Feminism and Gender Democracy and Heinrich Böll Foundation.
Participants needed an email address and access to the internet; prior knowledge on the topic was not a requirement. The class was directed towards students interested in eLearning.
The following questions were discussed based on American research and readings:
- How is gendered inequality measured and discussed in the U.S.?
- How are intersectionalities of class, gender, race and ethnicity addressed?
- Which actors and processes are part of theoretical models of working life inequalities?
- Which political solutions are suggested and applied?
