Academic and Professional Background

Professor for Economic and Social History. Graduate of Economics from University of Vienna (Austria) and Erlangen-Nürnberg where she obtained a PhD in Political Science. For several years she was a lecturer and assistant at the University of Bremen. Major fields of teaching and research are the history of small and medium-sized enterprises, questions of gender and technology as well as gender and entrepreneurship. Dorothea Schmidt retired in 2011.
